L'Shana Tovah! - Happy New Year! - The Jewish calendar is based on the the orbit of the moon rather than the sun, unlike the Gregorian calendar that we use in the United States.  God appointed special times of celebration based on the lunar calendar.  One of those times is called the Blowing of the Trumpet and falls on the first day of the Jewish civil new year, Rosh Hashanah, which means head of the year.  This day is actually the first day of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar.  It commemorates the creation of man and is the new year for people, animals, and legal contracts.

Messiah Yeshua - The Hebrew words equivalent to the Greek words Christ Jesus.  Messiah means "annointed one" and Yeshua means "salvation."

Messiah's Body - The Bible tells us that those who have put their faith in Yeshua as their savior are part of a community of believers, referred to as His body.  Yeshua is the head of the body, but believers are the visible representation to the world of Yeshua, who is at present in Heaven, and therefore invisible to those of us on earth.

New Covenant Scriptures - The second major division of the Messianic Bible, often referred to as the New Testament.  It is a library of 27 books and letters written by the disciples of Yeshua in the years following his death, burial, resurrection, and ascension into Heaven.  It includes 4 narratives of the earthly life of Yeshua, a narrative of the early believers in Yeshua, 21 letters written to the early believers consisting mostly of counsel and instruction, and a letter consisting mostly of prophecy of future events.

Old Covenant Scriptures - The first major division of the Messianic Bible, often referred to as the Old Testament.  It is the Hebrew Bible, but the books included in it are found in a different arrangement.  It is a library of 39 books written by various people prior to the birth of Yeshua.  We believe these books to be inspired by God, and to express the authoritative history of the relationship between God and his people.
